Following the publication of a Green Paper (external website) proposing major changes to EU research and innovation funding from 2013, the European Commission invited comments from interested parties on its proposal for a Common Strategic Framework for Research and Innovation. 

The ESRC participated in the joint submission made by 14 national agencies across Europe who fund social science research, and are members of the NORFACE (New Opportunities for Research Funding Agency Co-operation in Europe) Network.
