Low carbon technology to developing countries

Cooling towersHelping developing countries to deploy low carbon energy technologies is a crucial part of any future global deal to tackle climate change. Yet policymakers have struggled to get to grips with how to accelerate the use of low carbon technology at a global level.

Research led by the Sussex Energy Group assessed the barriers to the transfer of low carbon technology between developed and developing countries.

The researchers' policy recommendations have directly shaped the UK government's position for climate change negotiations, and the Chilean and Indian governments have sought the researchers' advice for their policies towards technology transfer.
