The ESRC Collaborative Ventures Scheme was introduced in 2004. It offers the opportunity to develop strategic partnerships with interested parties (across business, public and third sectors) that are willing to co-fund high quality research, and in some instances develop research capacity outside current funding modes.

The scheme allows us to respond quickly and flexibly to new collaborative initiatives which address strategically important social and economic issues both within the UK and globally.

Existing collaborations include a wide range of multi-disciplinary initiatives, addressing ESRC's strategic research priorities. The initiatives range from small research grants to multi-million pound research centres.
